I did not have the opportunity to thank Gil for making the effort to bring the gear out and set up the display with the help of Rudy and Donald. Gil was busy with PHILIPPINE DISASTER RELIEF ORGANIZATION (PeDRO) collecting relief goods from the community to be sent to the Philippines to help out with the flood victims the whole week. Here are some images. I wonder how much he had last night? Bataan Veteran Arrival Honors. Col. Ortega visits Sunday afternoon. Film maker Donald records scene with Japanese Army re-enactors. Surrender scene Dead POW on the wire. The USAFFE about to surrender their arms.

He was the OIC when they received the M41s.
As you can see from the picture of the Luneta parade he was in the lead tank.
All were identical. Did the PA recieve 5 or 7 tanks? Further research required to get the serial nos. from the export documents.
Frank PS: Would like to link to your pictures when I update the AFP museum website?

Nice photos.
Was this a spur of the moment event? Did not notice it listed in advance?
Col. Aguilar moved from O'Donnel to Magsaysay?

Japanese Appology to WW2 vets? www.necn.com/Boston/World/2009/05/30/Japan-apologizes-for-treatment/1243729757.html(NECN/KAAB: San Antonio, Texas) - Bataan Death March veterans heard the words they have waited almost a lifetime to hear in Texas on Saturday. The Ambassador to Japan, Ichiro Fujisaki, on behalf of his country, apologized for the treatment of prisoners of war during World War II and also to all of those who were killed. "I would like to express my deepest condolences to all those who have lost their lives in a war and after the war and their family members," Fujisaki said. "World War should not be repeated. Sufferings of many people, including prisoners of war, should not be repeated. Today, Japan and the United States are the closest friends." Saturday marked the 64th and final reunion for the surviving veterans of one of the war's most horrific events. One in four soldiers died during the march. Sixty-seven veterans were awarded commendations from Pentagon Army officials and were presented with a U.S. Army Freedom Team Salute. During the week-long march, prisoners suffered physical abuse and murder by the armed forces of the Empire of Japan. If anyone fell or was unable to continue in the tropical heat, it was like a death sentence. Prisoners of war, army nurses, and some civilians were beheaded, had their throats cut, and were beaten with rifle butts. The U.S. Army Freedom Team Salute Commendation was presented on behalf of the Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Army to thank veterans for their service, sacrifice, and dedication. www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/metro/6451502.htmlwww.gmanews.tv/story/156129/Japan-envoy-apologizes-for-WW-II-damage-at-Araw-ng-Kagitingan-rites www.mysanantonio.com/videos/news/?bctid=24770871001www.pia.gov.ph/default.asp?m=12&fi=p090408.htm&no=03&r=&y=&mo=

Bravo! Thanks for the link. I heard about the program at U Wisconsin. I did not know they digitized the photo collection. I found a picture of Ramon A. Alcaraz, Phil. Navy among the photos. He was at the Phil. Scouts reunion last weekend. He is the rightmost in the picture.

Look up the international distress signs and signals.
One is flying a flag upside down indicates distress. This was before radio and texting...

It is spelled -
K-U D-E T-A.
Or disrespect for the flag. Unless the country is at war.
You may not have been around when the students at rallies and marches waved the flag around upside down when ever they felt the administration was wrong...

Have a look at the antique coins shops in Robinson's Ortigas and at MegaMall.
They may have some there.
Good luck.
