BATAAN-CORREGIDOR TOUR

ITINERARY: Jan. 29, 2009 to Feb. 3, 2009
Day One: Jan. 29, Thursday
Pick up at Manila Domestic Airport to City Garden Hotel, Ermita area.
Day Two Jan. 30 Friday
7:00 am Pick up from City Garden to CCP Ferry Terminal.
Day tour to Corregidor island by Suncruises Ferry. Participants should be at the CCP terminal by 7:30 am. Malinta Tunnel tour is included. Lunch on board. The ferry departs Corregidor by 2:00 pm. It’s a world class tour and a pleasant ride.
Transfer to City Garden. Meals: breakfast and lunch.
Day Three Jan. 31 Saturday
7:30am. Pick up from the hotel for Bataan. As the tour leaves Manila, the historian describes the outbreak of war, and the movement of USAFFE to Bataan.
Stop at the monument “Battle Of the Layac Junction” where Sgt. Jose Calugas (pride of Philippines) had shown an exemplary heroism by leading a group of Filipino soldiers that blocked the invading Japanese forces. He was the only Filipino awarded of the highest Congressional Medal of Honor by the U.S. government. Lunch on the road, on your own.
Proceed to Bagac, start of death march, and visit the Mt. Samat Shrine and Museum.

Day Four Feb. 1 Sunday
8:00 am. The historian narrates the Battle of Bataan as she takes you to the Nurses Memorial in Limay, General King Marker in Lamao, General Wainwright Marker in Cabcaben, the former jungle hospital, Mariveles Zero Kilometer (start of death march); and the life size statues of the surrender party in Balanga Elementary School.
Proceed to Subic and visit the Hellship Memorial. This memorial was built in memory of those who perished in the sinking of Oryoku Maru, the last Japanese vessel that shipped captive soldiers for slave labor and hostages to Japan.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day Five Feb. 2 Monday
Departs Bataan for a short tour of Fort Stotsenburg, Clark Airfield, and Capas National Shrine (former Camp O-Donnel) where the death march had ended.
Lunch on the road, on your own. Back to City Garden Hotel.

Day Six Feb. 3 Tuesday
Airport transfer. Meal: breakfast
