Very nice! I put together a basic one for fun and for airsoft games. I just had the uniform made back home but the tailor messed up the snaps. He put buttons in instead of snaps. I had tweaked the equipment and impression since but I took this shot when I first got the uniform just to see how it looked. Incomplete but passable

Greetings bravotwozero,
What an excellent collection! Complete from head to toe just like GI Joe. Is that a real thompson and carbine(w/ bayonet lug and adjustable sights)? They look great. I've got nothing to show except for a couple of patches. One question, Is your uniform colored green? It seemed that the US paratroopers uniform during D-DAy looked like khaki( from books and the movies/tv shows). Or maybe its just the lighting. Anyway, congratulations and great impression.

I believe the thompson and the carbine are both airsoft. The Marushin brand M1 carbine may been modeled after a non WWII version. The bayonet lug can always be photoshopped out heh heh...

How about an impresion on the 11th Airborne in the Philippines. Tagaytay, Los Banos and the "Rock"?

That's probably a good one to put together. I myself haven't put in enough research on this unit. I don't know how much different the gear and uniform are from the ETO airborne.

I bought me a folding stock for the carbine, but the airsoft parts didn't fit! Actually, I broke some parts of my carbine that it doesn't fire anymore. Sayang. It's just an expensive prop. I even bought a part that would eliminate the bayonet lug, still it didn't fit! Kakaasar nga eh. So, I went ahead with a Post WWII version. As Veevee said, there's always Photoshop anyway. I bought my uniform from What Price Glory, they do have more of a greenish tint. Another sayang. Kasi mas gusto ko nga yung Khaki version para talagang Band of Brothers, di ba?

D i c k Winters, Ikaw naman ang daming hinahanap palagi! Actually, I have a flag (that wraps around my arm like the brassard), kaso mo, I couldn't find it during my photoshoot! The suspender paddings I got from What Price Glory.

B20, It's okay if you don't have the flag brassard if you're going for the Normandy impression. I think the flag brassard is for a Market Garden impression.

I played airsoft this past weekend. I came in a WWII airborne theme/impression and used my airsoft Garand. Someone got a good shot of me:

Greetings Victor,
That a great action shot! I didn't know they had an airsoft M1 Garand. Is that the same Garand you've been photographed with in all your impressions. I could swear that it looks real. Is it wood and metal? I've seen one of those 1/1 cybergun M1928 Thompsons but they are made out of plastic and fire one shot per pull of the charging handle and I don't think they'd last very long in a war game type activity. Most if not all the airsoft guns I've seen Walmart and gun show are modern type and all are made of plastic. Some at Walmart are even transparent! I've seen a couple of those blank firing pistols made out of zinc metal. They have a realistic weight but the details are not true to the original. They're only good for holster filling or playing but not for serious display. They are quite expensive too. I almost bought a real Garand for $400.00 but my wife made me choose. Guess who won? So, If I'm going to get some kind of weapon to supplement my collection it can't be a real gun or at least not a working one. I was looking at some dummy guns but they are quite pricey too. I saw some of those resin guns but the quality is reminiscent of the old CAT/CMT M1903 springfields. Plus the finish is like really heavily worn out or weathered. Where did you get your airsoft M1 garand and how much did it cost?

Hi Milspec,
Yes it's the same one in all my other photos. I don't own a real gun. My wife doesn't like to have one inside the house. Also, I prefer airsoft so I can take them to games. I can't do that with a real gun.
Yes the garand is a Marushin brand, real wood and metal. It's a gas blowback so it recoils. It also ejects the clip when it's empty. I got it from Dentrinity.com. You could also buy it from wgcshop.com or redwolfairsoft.com. It's expensive, it's $442 + s&h. I sold my airsoft Thompson (not the cheap single shot ones) and some other stuff to justify the cost.
Walmart sell the crappy airsoft guns. They're for plinking in the basement, not for serious recreational gaming.
If you want a realistically detailed Gov't. 1911 .45 pistol, you can get one for $25'ish from Shortyusa.com. It's a springer but at least detailed well. If you want a gas blowback one with recoil and all, get a Western Arms brand for $150'ish from any of the online retailers I mentioned above.

Greetings Victor,
Thanks for the information. I'll look into those websites you recommended. I just had another question. All of the airsoft guns I've seen have that bright orange tip on the muzzle. How come yours doesn't. I know its for some safety reason. Can I order or buy an airsoft gun without the orange colored muzzle. Are there other WWII weapons in the form of airsoft that are actual wood and metal construction rather than plastic?

It came with a blaze orange tip. I removed it using nail polish remover. The blaze orange is for the police to identify that it's not real. However I treat it like a real gun, packed in a gun case in the car's trunk when travelling. I only take it out when already inside the paintball field and everyone knows that it's airsoft, etc. etc. The orange tip is more a safeguard against stupid 12 year olds running around the neighborhood with airsoft guns. So the cops won't shoot them. As for WWII guns being real wood and metal, it depends. They're not all like that. Marushin usually makes metal and wood. The Tokyo Marui M1A1 Thompson is metal and plastic. The "wood" is plastic but looks very real. It's also heavy, about 8 or 9 lbs. It has a 450 round all metal magazine and metal receiver. I sold mine to buy the Garand!
