Hello, This is my first post to this forum. I am a collector of antique flags and have recently acquired the two flags shown in the photo below. The smaller flag is an example of the flag of the Sulu Sultanate, or more commonly known as a Moro Battle Flag. However I have searched the Internet, particularly royalpanji.net, but have not seen flags with symbols similar to those in the larger flag. Both flags are hand-stitched of a fine cloth which I believe to be cotton. The larger flag appears to have a separately sewn border of the identical red fabric that makes up the field of both flags. Clearly the flags are from the same era and similar location. I would appreciate any information you could give me on these flags, particularly the larger flag, which measures about 67 inches (1.7 m). Thank you.

Congratulations, what a great addition to your collection. Do you know Paolo who's also a Philippine flag collector and researcher?

Thank you very much for your comment.
I have seen Paolo's name referenced many times in connection with Philippine flags but I do not have a way to contact him except through sites like this.
