One item specifically used by the PHILCAGV is the french style "boonie hat....... Yes just like the one Bernard Bonnin wore in the movie "cowboy style" with left and right flaps of the brim folded upwards.

I just googled into them VeeVee, no unfortunately i don't have a copy but at least now we know what to look for. It was made at that period during the PHILCAG involvment and is even in "eastman color" so it should be a gem to find.

I didn't even know there was such a movie. I'll ask around for it. Thanks.

Since the PHILCAG was the Civic Action Group, did the also send nurses and doctors when the were in Vietnam. Secondly, what was the combat uniform of the PHILCAG, and did they wear the Philippine Flag, name tape, and the PHILCAG nametag on their uniforms?
I've seen photos of Marcos giving medals to a few members of the PHILCAG when the returned back to the Philippines.

My friend's late father was with the Philippine Navy contingent of Philcag. Some of the issue items still in their family's possession are the M69 flak jacket and a set of ARVN tiger stripe cammies, no patches. The flak jacket has "VC Mung" written on the back. My (poor) translation says it to mean "Die VC".
