I have a Springfield Armory M1905 bayonet (for the M1903 or M1 Garand rifles) in 16" with scabbard I'd like to sell. It has been chromed and the scabbard has the tip missing. That being said, the bayonet is in good condition. Some "tarnish" in a few spots and a couple of small areas where the chrome has chipped off. The date (1906) and serial number (40820) is sharp and the blade appears to be unsharpened. The catch works well. The scabbard obviously is missing the tip and the cover is somewhat stained. The "innards" of the bayonet and scabbard work and aren't broken. This might be a good "project" scabbard. The bayonet can be used as is or maybe refinished.
Obviously, not an original finish, but with original M1905s of this vintage with M1910 scabbards selling in the $400-600 range, this, I believe is a fairly priced bayonet and scabbard.
