Greetings All!
I've been reading this forum for 2 days straight, and I'm impressed as all heck. I'm second generation Filipino-American, and I've been interested in the Philippine Scouts since I was a kid. Usually, I'm the only reenactor at an event doing PS (pretty lonely, but pretty rewarding)!
I would most humbly like to ask the forum members' assistance. I'm writing my master's thesis on the PS & USSAFE resistance fighters during WWII. I'm trying to get in touch with Filipino veterans of both organizations for interviews. I've been having a hard time locating them. If anyone knows any vets that wouldn't mind being interviewed, would mind forwarding their contact information? Conversely, my information is listed below if you would prefer to send it directly to the vets.
Thank you, Matthew Cenon Andres 818 Dighton LN Schaumburg, IL 60173

Welcome to the forum Matt.
You reenact the PS? Which event did you go to?
Have you tried the Philippine Scouts Heritage Society website? It can be a jump off point for contacting the remaining vets. Many of them are not too enthusiastic over phone interviews though because most of them can't hear too well.
How did you find this forum? Just curious. It's been around for a few years and has been heavy on PS historical and reenacting information.

Thanks for the lead; I appreciate it!
I reenacted PS at a couple local living histories here in Illinois. I got away from reenacting for a few years, when I got called up by the reserves. Now that I'm out, I'm back to seriously reenacting.
I just started working on my thesis, and was following links on the internet, looking for sources. That's how I found pinoyhistory; I've been on it almost constantly since!
Respectfully, Matt Andres

As a top up to actual interviews with the Scouts, there's quite a few books written by surviving and Scouts who's already in peace. Most of them mentioned in this forum.

Heck yeah, this site's a gold mine. Every time I start looking for something specific, another post or topic will catch my eye. Two hours later, I can't remember what I was looking for in the first place. I appreciate your advice on written sources; I've been writing down the sources, and looking for them on the internet... Respectfully, Matt
