Thanks to both of you also, Paul and Legionnaire. Can't wait to see it on my Campaign Hat. Incidentally, my 26th Cavalry DI pin is also on the way. I hope I could really meet all of you guys someday, including Vic, Indiosbravos and the rest of the guys in this forum.

Congrats on the pin. Maybe you could join the guys at Fort Stotsenburg next time they have a photo shoot. By the way your boots look really good, and they're custom made from Marikina too! That's a good cheaper alternative for you guys over there.

Yes, not bad at all. As a matter of fact I use it everyday for office work now ;D I am thinking of having the M31 Mounted boots made here also. I just need an actual sample to copy. The picture at WPG is not very clear. Maybe you be so kind again to take some shots of your M31 from different angle and post it here. I could have it made in Marikina again for the benefit of the local guys who may want to do a 26th Cavalry impression too. Thanks again

Thanks masterchief. Masterchief converts M14 AEGs into an "skirmishable' M1 Garand and others AEG stocks into an M1903. Notice the M1903 Bush Master he is carrying? At the very least, we have access now to WWII guns so we could help and convince our airsofting buddies to join our group in doing a Philippine Scout impression. I found this new group to be very resourceful. A lot of their stuffs are locally made particularly the uniforms ( thanks to Divisoria ) and patches. We expect to have more participants in our next meet as we rekindle dormant FAS members with keen interest in WWII stuffs. I will help them copy some of my PS stuffs including the M1917 helmet so we can get more of them to do a PS impression. We are still far from historical reenacting but this might be the first step in that direction.

Very nice! I'm sure the 1917A1 helmet can be reproduced by excellent Filipino craftsmen. Good luck to you all, you have our support

Great impressions Masterchief! I hope your group does assemble a PS reenacment unit. Yes we really more of you guys to help honor the history and legacy of the elite fighting unit of the USAFFE troops. My congradualtions to your group! really nice work put together. And we are looking for PS reenactors for the Manila PS Fort Mckinley chapter we are activating and another chapter at Fort Stotsenburg. I would like to invite your group to join this non profit US based Philippine Scouts Heritage Society. Please let us know as we are in the early stages of recruitment and setting up of these chapters in the Philippines. Philip

Legionnaire/Veevee, Right now there are already 4 guys who have already signified to join and we are banding together to form a new PS group. One of them is Masterchief who is a muslim and was excited when I told him there were muslim scouts in the past ( with the famous Bolo bayonet ). Right now I am the only one with a complete PS uniform. We are using my items as a guide for them to get their own gears. We are hoping that in the next posting we can already show off our groups PS impression. Also, thanks for your kind encouragement.

bulitiki,
This is great that you actually have Masterchief, who wants to represent the Muslim scouts in your group. Is masterchief the one in full US Marine camo?
To recreate the Muslim PS there were under the 45th Infantry PS. And had the traditional ceremonial and unique head wear "Tubao" with the 45th DI pin on it. They were khaki Army issued style.
Plus the Bolo bayonet. There's a lot of good info on the Muslim scouts here in this forum.
As for the Manila chapter of the PS we are setting up an Official chapter directly connect with the mother organization were all PS veterans are lifetime members. And the Manila based ones will have Philippine based PS vets as lifetime members too.
I can send you all the info on the Society's main and chapter bylaws and membership applications.
Philip

Thanks for the great invite Legionnaire. We are already honored.
Masterchief is the smaller guy in marine outfit with the conversion M1903A4 ( not the bushmaster carbine we initially thought ). The Big guy is Dr. Otek who is also joining our PS group. I am the tall guy with the M2 Carbine in US Infantry (M1943) uniform. It was an ETO meet so I decided to wear what was appropriate for the occasion. However, I am as excited as materchief when he told me he has other muslim "brothers" who might be enticed to join us too. Imagine, a Muslim PS Impression, that's something. I will revisit that post of the Muslim Scouts ( with Perry on it ;D ) for reference.
