beautiful CGI. like watching a keith ferris painting come alive. Just really scared about the "inspired by actual events"tag. Might end up being a hollywood fantasy story like U 571 or Pearl Harbor. But make no mistake, i will watch it and enjoy it (but probably cringe and chuckle a couple of times).

I had the great opporunity to meet a few of the legendary Tuskeege airmen. Their stories are so inspiring and can't help but honor them in some way. Plus I love the classic B17 bomber.
Another great story would be the US Army "Black Panthers" All colored tankers of WWII. Another forgotten unit of WWII.

Legionnaire, I do believe they made a hour long documentary on the "Black Panthers" for the TV History channel! Also one part of the "Gen. Pattern's War" series gave a big slot to them and interviewed some of the VETS. Alas being in England at present means i don't get to see any of these new releases until about a year later than the USA. Even the "Blockbuster" moves are a few months behind!

I've just watched the film clip of red tails and the action looks brilliant! I'm a little concerned though about the mannerisms and language used, as it all sounds too modern, and the football like drumming up of the flyers spirits stuff jars as very modern also. I still look forward to seeing it though.

I had the book authered by Kareen Abdul Jabbar about those Tankers had an incredible achievement. Morgan Freeman wanted to produce a film on them.
As for the Red tails I hope Lucas gets it right and does honor to those Heroes of the greatest generation and does it better than the HBO low budget version. As the HBO version was sill good tribute and they had one of the Tuskeege Vets in the film included.

Finally got to see the blue Ray quality and really enjoyed all the incredible dog fight on the screen. One of THE best aerial combat war films ever made. "We fight, We fight, We fight!"

I haven't seen it yet. The aerial dogfight scenes seem to have a Star Wars quality to me. But maybe because it's a small youtube screen. Maybe it can suspend disbelief if it's a big screen.

The dog fight sequences and the B-17's were really worth it. Watched it twice. It was very hard to tell which is CG P-51's over the actual live action P-51's. The mass formations of B-17 was CG due to it's numbers required. I believe only the "Battle of Britain" had the best live action dog fights as the costs of getting those aircraft were cheap at that time and with the availability of the Spanish Airforce for the German aircrafts.
Lucas funded this whole film as NO Hollywood studio wanted to fund an ALL black film that's why it took him years to get this to become a reality.
So we will ever have a film made about the Scouts or the 26th Charge?

Looks like a Keith Ferris painting in motion. How was the story?

yeah, funny how they keep having to change history when the true stories are perfectly great. Twilight Riders would make a beautiful film or series especially if it ends with interviews of the remaining veterans to bring the story home. Another great film that i wonder has never been done was the heroic charge of the destroyers johnston and Hoel an leyte gulf. True heroism. No need for super heroes when there are so many real ones.
