Nice photos, here we remember the patriotism of our ancestors hopefully the story of Baler does not end up in the movies only. I am getting people who are interested in re enactments and forming a group one for the KKK and revolutionary era and one for WWII era. I am located in Las Pinas, whoever is interested pls email me at nel2000lax@yahoo.com and we shall remind our youth of the colorful history of the Philippines

Wonderful diorama! I wonder if the figures are made of lead? It would be nice to buy copies of some of them. How come No-one makes Toy/model figs of Spanish/Filipino soldiers of the 1896-1904 Wars? All the best in your efforts to recruit members for a re-enactment group; the more the better. Cheers, David (Angeles, Pampanga & London UK)

Hi David,
I would look around for American Civil War confederate soldiers and cavalrymen if going for 1/72 scale - these can easily be modified and painted up in Spanish-American/Fil-American War garb. For 1/35... harder to do... what I remember doing before was to modify WW2 US figures by adding a round brim to their helmets and turning the front up to get a Katipunero style straw hat look. For 1/6th scale (what I'm currently in to) I find that there are actually some usable Barbie straw hats that can be modified into period straw hats. I'm working on some uniforms for the era - Guardia Civil, Revolutionary Army, US Soldiers - and I'll post pics when I'm done with them.

Welcome Commandante! Any chance of you and your friends coming to the 150th Anniversary of Jose Rizal Event in Manila and joining forces with our lads in the BNK Katipunero re-enactor group, for this very special day? There are re-enactors scattered all over Luzon who never get together, but this is a mega event with TV and International press coverage, making this the best opportunity to show ourselves and gain publicity for recruitment we have ever had! Patriotic Pinoys, If you can get to Manila for the 19 JUNE, then do it! David
