He, he, he. You're very welcome Philip. You can thank Paul and Vicky of Military Historical Arms in Glendale for having a wool shirt big and long enough to fit my size. (an advertisment plug there ;D). Yep it felt good doing Scout impressions again. I guess I needed to miss it for while and wear something different to want to do the PS again. THE WOOL OLIVE DRAB SHIRT DID THE TRICK!My salutes and congratulations to you too, and to everyone else for the great weekend.

Hi All: Again my thanks to all who make my long ride down to LA area memorable. I had a wonderful time and loved beating the Germans two days in a row. Like Plata said we were Adoboy's. Some more photo's of the Band of Pinoy's, the winning campsite and myself on guard duty. To my home boys who took me for my best filipino food I ever had without getting sick and the cold San Miguels. Thanks, I loved the BS at the place. Gil thank you for letting me spend the night that really helped my ride the next day. As you know, good thing I took 5 home. Hell of a fire on 210. To all who showed up, just like the 26th Motto say's "Our Strength is in Loyalty" for this wonderful cause we are doing for public education of the Philippine Scouts. Until we meet again and the bugle for Boots and Saddles is called for me to ride down to LA. Rudy/26thCav

email I received today from PSHS National President Senator John Patterson
Dear Philip:
I got back from West Virginia last night at about midnight. Lillian had stayed up for she wanted me to get the news about the award of first place. CONGRATULATIONS! How proud you all must be. I get chills thinking about how far you all have come in such a short period of time. And I never thought there would be Scout reenactors. This is one of those times when I'm very glad I was wrong.
Clearly, clearly one of the panels and/or presentations at our next reunion has to deal with how you all came together and the various questions regarding authenticity, scheduling, the fun things and the things that are a lot of work, etc. On behalf of the Society, again, congratulations. Well done. --
John
This is for everyone who gave a D a m n ! I could not do it alone!
This is for the "Forgotten Generation" that they will be remembered again as the "Greatest generation!"
Philip

Outstanding Rudy! The pictures are awesome. Thanks for taking time to put them up. My favorite's got to be you on the Stuart as tank commander. How often can you ride a tank these days?
What's the story behind the WWI battle participation? Looks like a lot of fun.
By the way, Hawkinscav (Adam) may know the 11th Cav troopers.

For anyone interested in WWI, we hold two events a year out at a private site by Frazier Park. Our next event is November 22-23 and we try to do a 24 scenario (although things tend to quiet down about 1am). After a four-year hiatus, we're in the process of buidling a new trench complex and in 2009 we'll be working on a larger complex at the same site. We're short on Allied troops at this time and certainly could use more- which is where you guys came in at Marching Through History. ;D If anyone is interested, here's our website: greatwarhistoricalsociety.com/And I'm always looking for recruits for my unit, Co. G, 364th Infantry: cog364us.org/Great pictures by the way, I would have loved to have gotten me and the horse in their but he was a bit twitchy in an enclosed area. Maybe in the future... I know the 11th Cav guys, they're working on getting the organized and getting the horses out to events.

hawkins2nscav, we have the broadie helmets, the P17s and/or Springfied M03s the webbings and the wool OD shirts, and wollen putees are not really difficult to get. What we don't have are:
1) Wool WW1 type trousers
2) WW1 issue U.S. infantry jackets
3) WW1 issue gasmask bags
Would you recommend an inexpensive source for such items?
Can we participate with just the WW1 OD trousers with our OD shirts, broadie helmets and the webbing we already have for starters?

Very nice, guys! I was at MTH, but I fell in with 2nd Armored (my parent unit). I was going to come visit your camp but I started getting sick that day and eventually had to leave Saturday night (I had planned on sleeping over and staying Sunday) as I developed bronchitis. I wanted to come by and say HI to you all.
Just so you know, I am running for CHG President (unopposed) and should I win, I would love to see you at one of our PTO tactical events. You guys put a spot on impression and deserve the award you won at MTH! I'm sure you received a pennant, so fly it proud! You guys do the PS as well as all Filipinos who fought and died for their country as well as America honor. Keep at it and keep growing!
-Anthony!
PS: I would have loved to been at that dinner Sunday night! I haven't had quality Filipino food in awhile, and to chase it down with San Mig... sarap!!!
