Oh yes kev! arthur Howard! another englishmen that was implicated with the death of Gen. Lawton, I lost track of him. Anyway, it appears to methat there were more than one englishmen who are involved in the incident. Remember one of our witnesses claimed that there were many englishmen who went to san mateo before the battle. I think they were involved also.

Arthur Howard, (?) MacDonald, David Fagen and others including a Japanese Vol. served under Gens Alejandrino & Geronimo. Nicknamed "Tom Villa". A group of 'Englishmen' is very interesting. Were they a small band of mercenaries discharged from the Brit. Army or royal navy even? The Brits had control of the railway, & many sugar-mills. The Manila Harbour Master was a Scotsman! It was a Brit ship that ran Guns to Samar, and an English gunrunner who supplied 200 Remingtons to the defenders of Porac, Pampanga to Capt. Dizon via his cousins the Henson's (Timber traders) The Americans believed all the Brits in Luzon had "Gone native" & were not to be trusted. No compensation was paid to the railway owners when the Americans seized it. I have spoken to Eddy Ocampo today who said all of "Heneral Cerio's" things were lost during WW2. when there was a major battle to capture the WaWa Dam just above Montalban. Does anyone know what is the medal worn the the photo of Cerio in uniform? The best photo of him (1mX1.5m in size) hangs in The Geronimo Berenguer de Los Reyes Jr. Museum in Cavite Prov. (www.gbrmuseum.com.phi, curator is Mr. Romo Caparos. Spoke with him about sketching draft drawings for an oil painting & he did not slap me down! If I can arrange it I will take Daniel Dizon as well. HE is a real artist! I,m an amature. Alas Both Danny & Eddy are frail these days ( Eddy had 2 heart attacks). Must recommend buying copies of Danny's Illustrations of Rev. Republican soldiers from him direct (while you still can!) www.geocities.com/danhdizon. e-mail danhdizon@yahoo.com.

So you also had the chance to talk with G. Eddy Ocampo. I was able to talk to him last Dec. 2008 in the battle of san mateo anniversary at mukhang mas humina nga ang kanyang pangangatawan kumpara noong mainterview namin siya last 2007.
"Sugar Mills" Kev, is it posible that there were Sugar mills in the area and that some of this Britons are employee of this sugar mill?Just asking he he he he(Remember the Denweiddei Map? there were canefields in the area)
I think I made a mistake(about the group of englishmen), alam ko nabasa ko yun sa aming source kaya lang di ko na makita hanapin ko muna uli.
Mahirap kasi magkamali sa kasaysayan(madalas kasi ako diyan)kaya nagiingat na rin ako he he he he.

I understand, indiosbravos. Despite the pretty red trousers, it is unfortunate that they had to ruin their reputation several times in the name of the revolution and the republic.
