Well these are not reenactment pictures. They're airsoft. I finally found time to get some exercise and play for an afternoon. I chose to use my airsoft M1 even though I'd be outgunned by all those full auto M16's. And to go with the rifle, I chose my quasi/pseudo Band of Brothers impression. This is not reenactment and I never intended for everything to be fully authentic. It's just my version of "cosplay".
I'M BEAT! Running around, crawling, up and down hills and rocks... I'm not used to it anymore. Can't keep up with the teen agers and the 20'something guys. But I got my exercise and burned a whole lot of calories ;D
Thanks! Some of the pictures turned out good. I got my butt shot out from under me all day! Most everyone had automatic weapons (M16's, AK's, MP5's). I was the only one with a semi and with only 8 rounds to boot. I couldn't duke it out with the auto-firing guys. I basically had to wait... and wait... and wait prone until someone comes into my range. And I better get him because the return fire would be horrendous.
Well I didn't get a single kill with the M1. A couple of times I got some guys within range but I missed and I got peppered with return fire. I got kills with my 1911 though
Where's the mussette!? Where's the large first aid packet stuck silly-style on the helmet?! Where's the rope?! Where's your gas brassard, blood chit and scrim scarf?! And why are you mixing with those, those... peshalporses/MOLLE persons?
Kidding, Vic! Great looking shots. Glad you had fun. What made you break out the airsoft stuff? Mine's been gathering dust for more than a year now hahah.

Great stuff Vic....Oh how I missed playing again, been sidelined for almost 3 mos. now. I used to play at least once a month. In my case it was Airsoft that really paved the way for me " dressing up as a soldier" and now I'm into reenacting....so I really owed it to this hobby in a way...
Hope I don't need to necro-post in the future to add my own Airsoft version ;D
Guys, airsoft is really big in the Philippines. You have to choose the game sites. It's all over including the provinces. I am part of a group of professionals mostly in the medical field : Doctors, Nurses ( yes lady nurses ), Med Reps and business men. We do private games or among ourselves ( our group has over 30 members ), or in the game sites which could reach over a hundred in one playing day. Game sites are now competing with each other to attract players. As such, it has evolved into an enterprising activity run professionally by airsoft guys too and charges a minimal fee from 50 to 100 pesos for the site upkeep and the game marshals. FPS LIMITS: mostly 450 - 550 FPS or OPEN FPS( here we don't play ).
My brothers, Glenn and Ronald, and I (naturally, our group is named "Band of Brothers Ltd.", operate our own airsoft game site named "Fort Magsaysay" after the AFP Army Infantry training camp in Nueva Ecija. Please visit our blogsite: fortmagsaysay-airsoft.blogspot.com.
Tom and the others who can join in are invited to join our Saturday and Sunday games (usually held from before-noon to sunset). Game fee is P150 per player for the whole day. Field gun velocity is 450 fps per 0.2-g BB.
You'll see a hodge-podge of military outfits but we all are fully covered from head to foot because the grass can be very itchy.
Hope to see fellow reenactors and combat "cos-players" there among the airsofters.
Yeah its supposed to be an M41 jacket. I had it done at an Army tailor in Frot Bonifacio who claims he has seen the real thing. He didnt measure me well though so my stomach was popping out of the buttons. I recently had a rangers patch made in Crame but hadnt sewn it in during the photo ops. Im having another one made heh
