email reply from National President of the PSHS Senator John Patterson.
Because I've been away and wrestling with the installation of a new computer, I've been tardy answering messages. The photos are really impressive. You clearly are doing something right given the increase in your numbers. I appreciate the dialog you all have regarding authenticity. There have been individuals from time to time who said they didn't think the Scouts had the Garand. They're convinced when I show them pictures of Scouts holding the M-1. The statue of my uncle has a '03 Springfield which, of course, was prevalent before the war as well. You all look like you're having a good time. That's great and, of course, it's great that you all are carrying forward the history and legacy of some pretty extraordinary warriors. Thank you. Mike: Would you send Philip's email out over your PSHS network? --John

Hi Philip,
My pleasure, I was just happy to be there and experience all that. I really should have gone Saturday though, there was so much to see. I'm glad that I was able to capture bits of the blessing, just sorry I wasn't able to get it on video. Hopefully someone did. I was able to take part in Sunday afternoon's last battle with the Spanish-American war group actually and that was lots of fun!
Hope to catch you guys at future events!
Tom

Re: Garand and the PS- One vendor here in UK (he's from Belgium) was trying to sales talk me when he saw me with my Garand saying it never reach the Philippines and started showing me his Springfield 03....Of course I politely gave him a lecture......
