That last one was a good and much more endearing post Martin. For a while there these guys were thinking of loading up the gatling again...... Love and Peace ;D And now, here's another photo of that "other" war impressions from fort mac 08. Soldados de la guerra 1898 en Cuba y en las islas Filipinas. USV Cavalryman, Macabebe scout Art, Insurrecto Ray, and Guardia Civil Tom.

Martin: Great photo's and information, thanks. I love the first photos sunglasses, looks like some are white rimmed and they did it to look funny on purpose. Martin here are my sunglasses>ha ha Can you help me with some other info and I guess I will like you also>ha ha Notice the grenades I brought down. I painted a small yellow ring on them not knowing if they still had them all yellow or did they paint them all OD green or is this OK? Thanks for information. Rudy/26thCav

WOW!!! Excellent photos guys!
It's very nice to see a lot of PS reenactors in one place and time....this must be a record so far. I could only wish me and the boys were there too...sigh... kailan pa kaya...
I can see that Don has got some great footages there. Over here at our end, we are still building up our troops for Don's visit next month...we are all looking forward to that.
Anyway, i just want to say -congratulations to you guys! You are like the 'tip of the spear' when it comes to PS reenacting around the globe representing our very own Vets and we here at HK admire you guys for doing such great work.
Let's keep it authentic and alive!

Thank you for building a scout unit in southeast pacific ! And keeping the spirit and legacy of the scouts alive. You guys are also creating a great impression back there.
My suggestion is Your group and Perry should combine forces as I suggested to Perry to start a PSHS Manila Chapter back in the mother country of the scouts and we will help you guys organized it. Just let us know.
Philip

I painted a small yellow ring on them not knowing if they still had them all yellow or did they paint them all OD green or is this OK? Thanks for information. Rudy/26thCav The first grenades were black. They had issues with the complicated fuzes, so they evidently refuzzed them after WW1. They came out with grey ones during the 30's from one source. There are WW1 grenade bodies that show up on ebay with grey paint on them. The yellow from one source was right at the begining of the war. I don't think they made it to the Philippines in 1941-42, check my next paragraph. The green with yellow stripe is a 1943 and beyond paint scheme. I painted a grenade gray for my display. The grenades that they had were old. The white troops speak of having to hit them on thier shoes to make them work. In other words, the springs and strikers were corroded. One source called them WW1 grenades. They make no mention of the color. That is where I am guessing. Confusing? Yes, this is going to take more research. I haven't read everything on the conflict yet. It might be revealed in some source. I didn't know till the other day that the Stokes rounds from WW1, were more reliable than the ones from the 20's. Learn something new everyday. I try to win those sunglasses, like in the 31st photo, on ebay. They go for lots of money. They are a celluliod material. Some look like they are made to resemble sea shell material. Martin

VeeVee has helped a lot already in acquiring some of our gear...Thanks again Vee! We've been doing a lot of other country's impressions, we just figured that it's about time we do our own country's impression to keep the spirit and legacy of the scouts alive. And we love doing this! ;D

Hi nars Jocelle and Izele,
Welcome to our forum and thank you for participating and helping us promote the legacy of the Scouts and the PA soldiers and specially the "Angels of Bataan" the unsung heroes who we need to start focusing on their sacrifices in Bataan.
We finally are getting our medical team together up and running. Will help you slowly get your gear and uniforms together.
Philip

Greetings Gentlemen,
Wuaaaaw!! A most profound congratulations to all of you for a great and successful event. Well documented in stills as well as video. Keeps getting better every year. Nice to see Philip and Joseph once again. We missed both of you at Reading. The screen shots from Dons video are excellent, very convincing and comparable to a History channel episode. Can't wait to see the actual video hopefully with sound and some special effects.
