Hi Just posting a video of the city of Manila made in the 1930s. It's really very interesting. Dont know if this was already posted before. But it's the first time I've seen this. One thing that I was'nt aware of before was that we used to drive in the left side of the road, same as that with our uk commonwealth asian neighbors... this link: tinyurl.com/55n6rz "Manila Queen of the Pacific 1938" to the moderators, please free to delete this post if already redundant or if it infringes any copyright since I dont know who owns this footage./ thanks

Yes vehicles drove on the left side of the rode, being a european colony. It was only post war liberation that we followed the American right side of the road rule.
Alot of great vintage footage htat somehow showed life was a lot simpler and not overcrowed back then.

Also noticed that alot of Filipinos were wearing suits/ jackets going their ways then...something that you only see now in western countries...the temperature must have been really lower back then....

I don't know about temp's. It doesn't sound that way, when you read accounts from the war. It would be the custom of the times to wear a jacket. That was the correct thing to do. When I was in Panama, the only people that wore shorts (besides the very poor), were the Americans. It was considered bad form to conduct business in shorts. You put on pants to do any business.
