Book signing - Band of Brothers vets

I learned about this late. I found out that Band of Brothers veterans Bill Guarnere and Babe Heffron were going to have a book signing at a Barnes and Noble in downtown Philly (they're hometown Philly boys). I got there with half an hour to spare only to find out that their new book, "Brothers in Battle, Best of Friends" was sold out. I thought about running to the next closest bookstore to buy a copy then come back to have them sign it but I wouldn't make it back in time. So I settled for having a "book plate" (aka sticker label) signed by them so I can affix it to the copy of the book that I will eventually buy. They also had some kind of a promotional postcard which was free and they signed it for me.

I met Bill Guarnere at the Reading Airshow twice but not Babe Heffron.

Aye... it was indeed an honor and a pleasure to have met him at the PSHS reunion in May.

Maybe you can go to Fort Riley next year. He always attends the Fort Riley cavalry competition. It wouldn't be a stretch to drive from Nebraska to Kansas next year. God willing he will be there again in good health and spirits.
