Welcome aboard Captain Rudy!.....That's simply an AWESOME display of P.S. cavalry horse furniture, not to mention the uniform plus accoutrements and the beautiful mount itself. Does she have a name?

:)Thank you gentlemen for your comments on my equipment. I no longer ride because Mimi my old horse is now in Trooper Heaven. When they yell out boots and saddles I stay at the barracks>haha. I have not ridden in 5 years. Miss it very much. All this now just sits in my garage. Will take picture of that and will try to post it. Hope to see you in July.

Greetings 26th,
Great impression! I'm very impressed. I'm sorry about the horse but your portrait with your steed is a classic. If Phillip of Victor can repost it in Sepia or black and white it would look even more authentic/classic. I hope that you are able to post pictures of your gear for reference. You look very complete and very authentic. My complements and congratulations.

Wow looks great. For info my dad joined and was assigned to 26th from 1923-26, one year after it was founded. They still used the saber and no leather boots. Issued 1903 springfield and 45 colt. This is a hard period to find photo's of these guys. Also they were US Army and not commonwealth army which was started I think in 1931 or 36. If anyone know a good source for photos of this period let me know.

Hi You all: Did this photo for Jim Muir this Dec. He did "Duty" at Fort Riley Kansas. I went down to see him in Arizona and did this version of "Dismounted Duty" for him as a card. He loved it. He would love to do one for the Scouts in the Philippines but needs connections and money. He is a grad of West Point and ex reenactor. Rudy/26Cav

Attached is photo of my uncle Saturnino and the roster of troop E 26th Cavalry Regiment. Only known photo of any of my family from the 26th in uniform including my dad. He just happened to send it to my dad in 1940 from Fort Stroenberg. My uncle serverd from 1940 to the end of the war. One of the few who survived the 26 cav during the war. I think only 150 or so from 750. He won the bronze star. Also mentioned in the roster is a cousin of his Alberto. MIA by records in 5-42. If you look at the corporls, one is Felipe Hernandez who is still alive by Monterey and retired as a Captain. Victor made a book for him. He is the one that saved this roster from destruction. What a memento to have. Maybe you can email the photo to Capt. Fernandez as a memento for an old comrade
