Throwing out some feelers to see if there are any Phillipine Scout / Phillipine reenactors in Texas who are interested in helping put together a "Fort MacArthur Days"-style reenactment at Fort Travis on Bolivar Peninsula - Galveston, Texas - in late 2009. www.eventective.com/USA/Texas/Port+Bolivar/192875/Fort-Travis-Seashore-Park.htmlhttp://andy_bennett.home.mindspring.com/travis1.html flickr.com/photos/51063009@N00/2393418022/We are in the process of building a CBI Historical Association in the U.S. and are interested in approaching the Galveston Parks Board for an event (any theme) at Fort Travis: * Singapore '41 * Bataan / Correigador * Rangoon Regards, Mick -------------------------------------

Welcome to the forum Scot. Fort Travis does look like a nice location to have a Corregidor/Phil. Scout living history.
So far we don't know anyone doing the PS in the Texas area. There are very few who have the interest in the history and hobby. However that doesn't mean there won't be any Filipino Texans in the future who might be interested.
Is your group attending the Fort Mac event in July?
We'd love to see photos of your future events. Thanks! -victor

hey thanks....
we will send a link for a future pics. we have three events coming up in May (the warm weathe months here are *made* for CBI!)
fort travis truly has "Singapore" written all over it. however, you have to navigate the galveston county parks board and that has been a minefield as of late. we are hoping to get a delegation to visit them at the county annex next meeting and present a proposal to them to turn it into a reenacting park. as matt drudge says, "developing ... "
in any event - love this forum - hey if you guys have a link to the chinese reenactors group send it to me!
