Count me in as interested too, Vic. Is your dad putting the other prints up for sale too or limiting sales to the one above?

Thanks for the reminder. There are 14 others in the series, 13 of them are 11x17. The number of prints made make it possible for the price to be $10 each but not personally signed by the artist anymore. I need to squeeze in time to organize and update this for sale thread.

Hi Mish, My dad's back in Manila right now. I think he has a few copies with him. Not all, just a few. You could possibly purchase one from him in pesos and he'd be able to sign it for you. And if you decide to pick it up from Quezon City, there won't be shipping cost. Just an option. Think about it and just let me know if you're interested and I'll send you his contact info. Thanks. -v PS. Hey how about that. One of his old works is selling on ebay Philippines right now. cgi.ebay.ph/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130241659502&indexURL=

Thanks, that one was influenced by this passage in the book Death March by Donald Knox"
Men who saw it told me that a unit of Scout Cavalry once rode up alongside the blind side of a Jap tank column and threw hand grenades down the open turrets. I don't know whether this is true or not, but I wouldn't doubt it because later I saw these Philippine Scouts fight.
I showed this passage to my dad and he ran away with it and painted the cavalrymen charging tanks. A 26th cav veteran did tell me that he saw some men from his troop crawl dismounted close to a column of tanks that came up to their road block. They did disable one with a molotov cocktail and the rest fled having no infantry support. I'm not sure if this episode traveled down the rumor mill and eventually became "charged a column of tanks" or that charge happened separately.

Francisco Verano was part of the "Saturday Group of Filipino Artists" it includes the late National Artists Vicente Manansala, H. R. Ocampo, Bencab, Galo Ocampo, Cesar Legaspi and sculptors Solomon Saprid & Ed Castrillo, Mauro Malang Santos, Ang Kiu Kok, Slim Torres, Romulo Olazo, Jess Rivera, Justin Nuyda, Magoo Valencia, Onib Olmedo. N.B. National Artist- The highest accolade one can attain in the Philippines in the practice of his/her artistic endeavours. Meaning his with the right company (F. Verano). U.P. or University of the Philippines is one of the Top University in the Philippines, sort of an Ivy League equivalent in the U.S. Francisco M. Verano is a product of the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts who ably managed to continue his sculptural and painting careers since graduation, even as he pursued a corporate agenda. Rising from the ranks, he held various executive and management positions in advertising and later a top marketing communications position in a multinational company. An artist of no mean creativity and versatility, he won a number of awards in painting and sculpture, did twenty-five one-man shows, and participated in more than a hundred group exhibitions to date. His expressive experimental works are based on nature and its color harmonies. His ability to capture the mood, atmosphere, feeling, and flavor of a scenery with accuracy and sensitivity makes his paintings and sculptures hard to match. His lyrical, narrative works display very credible craftsmanship and imagination. His works are in the collection of private and corporate collectors, not only in the Philippines but also in the United States, Japan, Europe, and Southeast Asia. He has three grown children and lives with wife Elvie in Quezon City. Verano is one of the most distinguished members and the founding chairman of grUPo. copied from : convergenceinternationale.com/verano.html
