THAT ROD LOOKING OBJECT I'M HOLDING IS A .30 CAL MACHINEGUN BARREL . I ALSO FOUND A M1917 ENFIELD BOLT CLOSE BY.(ALSO A PHILIPPINE COBRA TOO! )

I LOOKED UP AND I DON'T KNOW WHO WAS THE MOST SURPRISED THE NEGRITO OR ME AS NO ONE LIVES IN THIS AREA. HE WAS HUNTING WITH HIS MONKEY DOGS WHICH DOESN'T SAY MUCH FOR ME SINCE THEY FOUND THE AMERICANO.NICE GUY AND I GAVE HIM AN EXTRA HAT AND 2 LITER BOTTLE WHICH HE LATER MADE A CANTEEN OUT OF.I ALWAYS ASKED THE NEGRITOS ABOUT ANY RELICS THEY MAY HAVE SEEN BECAUSE THEY KNOW THE AREA BEST. MARAVILES )WHICH THERE IS A SITE PERTAINING TO THE SEARCH FOR HIM. HE SAID HE KNEW OF ANOTHER ,BUT WAS FROM THE 1960S. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT KNOW THE JUNGLE, BELIVE ME. AS FAR AS THE DOGS THEY WERE FRIENDLY ,BUT TREATS FOR DOGS WORK INTERNATIONALLY. I ONCE SAW DOGS OVER BY THE POCKETS AREA EATING COCOANUT MEAT. THAT WAS A NEW ONE ON ME. THANKS AGAIN, FOXHOLEFRANK.

 HELLO BEANCENT, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! THATS ONE THING I HEARD SO MANY TIMES ON BATAAN AS ALMOST EVERYONE WAS CONVINCED THAT GOLD WAS ON THEIR LAND. I'VE SEEN HOLES 15 FEET DEEP DUG BY GOLD HUNTERS IN MANY PLACES AND NEVER COULD UNDERSTAND WHAT POSSESED THEM DIG IN THAT SPOT NOT HAVING A DETECTOR. Hello, sir foxholefrank,
Among the things I'd love to find myself doing before getting too old to do anything about it is what you're doing right now: actual field historical/militaria collecting. Some questions:
1) Are you connected with an academic institution? If you don't mind me asking, what/where/as what?;
2) Could you give pointers/links with regard to the techniques involved in what you're currently doing (i.e: something as practical and life-saving as 'how to not get blown away when digging for historical ordnance'?;
3) What do you do with the artifacts you find?
4) Why Bataan?
