LOS HORRORES DE FILIPINAS. NOVELA DE AVENTURAS POR EMILIO SALGARI.MADRID. 1ST EDITION. 1897 284 pages, with dozens of illustrations 8) I won this book on Ebay several weeks ago, even though it is a novel, I am hoping it will contain information and insight on the first revolution against Spain..... unfortunately I do not speak any Spanish so until I find someone who can translate the book it is about as useful as a brick just skimming over the pages I found Bonifacio's name mentioned several times

My mom is a Spanish language professor in UP. RayadillO was one of her students... poor guy. He might qualify for a Purple Heart medal for taking her class ;D Translating a book can be a full time job requiring months or even years. I don't think it's practical... unless you find a Spanish speaking friend and sit with him as hi skim through the book looking for good stuff and doing some on-the-fly translation for you.

I would hate to have the entire book translated only to discover it is full of trivial garbage..... yeah that's what I was thinking just skim through the chapters and see if it might be worth it. oh wow! I didn't know RayadillO speaks spanish .... well I know he is a busy man.... I think what I will do is send the book to Perry or Ding and see if they can coordinate something between the language and history departments at UP (for gratis hopefully)
