Very nice GI! Are the uniforms and gear originals or repros? How hard is it to find these items?

Hello!! I'm new to the forum but not to reenacting. I'm located in the central United States and am currently attemptint to put together a WW2 Swiss impression but have run into some problem areas. First there isn't much information around here as to what the standard equipment was for the Swiss soldier. Next problem is I cannot find anything on their rank structure or chevrons. Last is where can I get ahold of Swiss repro. or original uniforms and equipment? I currently have a uniform but I believe it to be a post war model as the collar and buttons don't seem correct, also the trousers do not have the black stripe down the outside seem. I also have a couple of helmets (one with a cover, one without), a canteen and cup, messkit. The backpack I have is a Grossenbacher Zurich 66 model is that a correct model for WW2? Please email me personally at Panzer34T@hotmail.com or post here. Thanks. Bob Starr

GI danke for getting back with me on the rank and the other website. I'm used to US military structure, (fire team, squad, platoon, Company, etc) what was the bottom to top structure of the Swiss military?? Also what would have been the lowest level where you would find a cook? Once I get my impression together I will post some pics for everyone. Thanks again for all the help. Bob

Hello gi, it looks to me like there is a resemblance between the Swiss Army uniform of 1943 and that of the Austro-Hungarian Army of WW1?
