Wow check out this video. They used just 3 actors/reenactors on this one. What is the video equivalent of Photoshop? You can definitely scratch some creative itch with the right tools (and time) in hand. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRS9cpOMYv0

Adobe Premiere with Adobe After Effects will do the job. The CS3 bundle sells for about 1,600 bucks and it includes Photo shop and other creative programs. I love using it and in a couple of weeks I'll be showing a trailer for the documentary "FORGOTTEN SOLDIERS" that will star the Pinoy Reenactors and surviving Philippine Scouts soldiers and officers.

Dang!, it looks like the Malasians/Singaporeans have beaten us to a feature film and even an anime short; and to think that our vets did an even better job at Bataan and Corregidor. Youtube teaser on Leftenant Adnan, Malayan Rifle Regiment of the 1942 Malayan-Singapore campaign. www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5DKfX1k2z0&feature=relatedA short "anime" version. entitled "Bukit Candu" www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dNl6IH7uuI&feature=relatedCome on Philippines, it's about time we have our "Saving Private Ryan Movie" before that WW2 generation becomes completely extinct! BTW, HAPPY VALENTINES TO ALL!

Pretty good effort on Leftenant Adnan.
Except the Enfield "Jungle Carbine" wasn't actually made or fielded until late in 1944.\
Probably used in the film as there are still plenty of them in Malaysia.
Let's just say it would be the equivalent of the Philippine Scouts using the M1 Carbine at Bata'an.

I totally missed these youtube links posted by Ray until now. Thanks for posting it. They could easily have been Phil. Scouts in Bataan. The terrain and vegetation are the same as in the PI. A very good effort on the anime as well. Mark, good eye on the jungle carbine. What if we do something about it? What if we film a movie short project... a proof of concept. Just 5 minutes long. Doesn't have to be a battle scene. If nothing more than just for fun and our own entertainment.

Why not? The 501st Legion and the Star Wars Imperials have been doing great fan films w/c have become very famous because they're very well produced and hilariously scripted - TROOPS and IMPS:The Relentless. I saw a documentary on Discovery before about Chinese collectors who did a WW2 re-enactment movie. There's no reason that Filipinos can't do the same. With a good script I'm sure it'll make good :-)
We could post suggestions here and bounce around script ideas and go for it ;-)
We can do it! Tom
