Got the book yesterday! It pretty good and answered a few y questions about the Philippine scouts. Nice pictures also.

What? Your book has pictures? The edition I have doesn't have any!
I took note of the part where he was describing their equipment. He specifically said they had garands and that as December neared, they changed to wool shirts instead of the cotton khakis.
Also, the newer or younger Scouts were only trained and accustomed to the garands. Later in the book, he would describe how some of them had to be shown how to work some P17 bolt actions that they were able to acquire.

Vic, Is yours the softbound edition, which I have. The 20 photos are on the end last few pages of my book. It dosen't say if my is a second printing. So why yours does not have is strange.
I read about the cavalry gear they used and yes read the part of the wool shirt.
