Pal Brodit, 88th Field Artillery PS (PSHS Monterey Chapter)
Pal Brodit was born in Ft Stotsenburg, Pampanga, Philippines on January 22, 1920. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. During World War II, he was a Prisoner of War while serving with the Philippine Scouts. After the war, he merged with the US Army until he retired in 1961. He was recalled to active duty in 1966 where he served for another three years and retiring for the second time in 1969. He remained on active reserve until 1975. He served honorably with the United States Army for 25 years. He later retired from the United States Postal Service.
Pal Brodit enjoyed his retirement life with his surviving wife of 68 years, Banding. He is also survived by his two sons, Bernard (Anita) and Eddie; grandchildren, Jimmy (Sheila) and Chris (Abbey), Jennifer Kem, Eric (Michelle) Kem; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Brianna, Malia ,Ericka, Mikaela, Jordan and Aria; siblings, Vincent Brodit, Tony (Elena) Brodit, Frank (Freda) Brodit, Marcel (Jocelyn) Brodit, Virginia Neel, Erlinda Briones, and Roger Brodit.
