Well the two projects are to make a 30mins TV drama doc. about Pvt. Lawrence and Col. Suzuki and to have a display at the Angeles Museum where Lawrence was kept prisoner. Now I have learnt that the Pamintuan Mansion ( the old Pamintuan Residence) has now been fully restored and made into a Provincial museum. The Mansion housed Pres. Gen. Aguinaldo, Gen. Arthur MacArthur, the col. S Susuki 1942-44 and finally Gen D. MacArthur in 1945. I had thought to concentrate on just The relationship of the two principal characters Lawrence and the Fil. clerk that befriended him. Now I have learnt more about Col. Susuki, I am keen to expand his part more. Susuki was a graduate of the German Military Academy in Berlin and according to Danny Dizon in his story of his own childhood tells of the Col. restoring a german Catholic primary school next to the German church in Angeles, and permitting his IJA solders who were catholics to take mass there. The frustrating part is even with the knowledge that he was with the 133rd infantry and commander in Angeles, i can't find anything else, least of all a photo. I am writing to the Japanese Embassy in London in hope that they can assist. Getting more information on all the US soldiers having secured there names and I.D. nos etc, it would be easy, ha ha, Did I get that wrong!

Do you know anyone who has a subscription to Ancestry.com? Maybe info for those with names and serial numbers may turn up in that website.
