Barely two days after Ed Ramsey’s passing, another pillar and mainstay of the Philippine Scouts Heritage Society was called by the Commander-in-Chief. With a heavy heart, I regret to inform everyone that our beloved Capt. Felipe Fernandez, 26th Cavalry, passed away on March 9th, 2013. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the Fernandez family for this most difficult time. Godspeed Capt. Fernandez. You will never be forgotten by those whose lives you've touched. It was a privilege and honour to have met the dear Captain! We sat spellbound around him at Ft. Stotsenburg as he told us of his experiences while serving in the 26th Cav. Gone but not forgotten!

Hi David, Do you think the wood worker craftsman you know can do a cavalryman? That would be neat. ------- Here's both Ed and Felipe, May 2011. and here's Felipe in Korea... (or maybe during training in California, I can't remember. I have to check his description in his email)

Today was Capt. Fernandez's memorial service. I was not able to fly to California for it but he was very much in thought. Here's the audio of the eulogy/prayer he gave at Fort Stotsenburg last year to recognize the 600 Philippine Scouts buried in the Clark Cemetery. Salutes to you Uncle Felipe. I only hope that in the brief time we had known you since 2007, that some of your character have rubbed off on us, and we're forever richer because of it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LInZRhuCEy4

Hi Troopers: All went well and a great send off by family of Felipe. Gil, Franz and I made the service. More pictures to come from myself and Franz. Image Hosting is driving me crazy. Franz and I stood guard honor for Felipe and Gil was at front door. I gave about a 12 minute Eulogy and provided posters, saddle, and boots. Thank you Gil and Franz for come up from Los Angles to say good bye to our beloved trooper. I know that was tuff for you Gil. Great to see you Franz. Rudy

Rudy, Gil, and Frank, thanks for being there for Felipe. How is Ma'am Emilia doing? Last week I did my own "send-off". I shot a 21 volley for Felipe and Ed. I couldn't get it all in black at 100 yards with the Garand but it was a heartfelt salute. I hope you're having a good and meaningful Easter.

Mister: It is best that Felipe never saw that kind of shooting. Good try Victor. Open sights all.. All went well and went to my sisters for ham. First Easter with family for my daughter Katelyn in 4 years (college). Trying to down load a few more but photo buckets sucks at this time. Franz camera took some with posters and hope to see them soon. Right Franz?? Rudy

Hey! ... it still 21 dead enemy targets at 100 yards haha ;D
Photobucket overhauled its site trying to look cool... but it just made life ,uch harder for all its members. It started out fast, simple, and flawless back in 2004 when I first started using it. Now it's just clumsy, slow, and difficult.

Morning Victor: Slow is not the word to use. One photo a day is just terrible. The boys in front on Chapel. I hope Franz post the one's with posters.

Maybe you can send me some and I'll try to phost and post them from my account. Photobucket has been buggy, slow, and clumsy to use but I can still post more than one photo at a time.
