THERE ARE OTHER TUNNELS UNDER FORT BONIFACIO, THE FORMER FORT MCKINLEY
Some local tunnel enthusiasts (called the Tunnel Rats) explored one of these tunnels on the 13th of Nov. 2012. They invited me to tag along. I deeply appreciate their friendship and for letting this old rusty and salty sailor tag along.
This is not the Fort Bonifacio tunnel complex which has been in the news this year.
This tunnel is located in an area the former Fort McKinley which is now in a residential area. Some local Tunnel Rats with an organizer in Texas made this exploration on this date possible. The owner of the property gave us permission and we made it happen. Some of the Tunnel Rats had known about this tunnel when they played Cowboy and Indians here in the 1940s but never entered it all the way. Today 52 years later we corrected that and these pictures tell the story. This tunnel is not available for public viewing!
Here is the album with 54 images, each image has a description:

Because of my activities with the Corregidor-Then and Now 503d PRCT Heritage Battalion ProBoard (Bulletin Board) I got to know the Tunnel Rats and we became friends. We have contributed to ProBoard over time. Our contributions in regards to the Fort Bonifacio Tunnels are now a threat in this ProBoard with this URL:

Cheers, I’ll be sipping on a cold San Miguel Beer this afternoon.
