Hey MTBS....Thanks so much for posting. I have never seen any photos of those boats, except a pre- war photo or two in Life Magazine way back when I was in elementary school.. This is good stuff. What a wild part these little vessels played, especially in those early days in the PI.

Thanks for posting . I have become interested in Pt's use in the war, since I have read the book Shadows in the Jungle by Larry Alexander on the history of the Alamo Scouts. A little known highly classified unit of WW2. They are the predecessor of the US Special Forces that we have today. They used the PT's for transport to and from missions. The book is great reading.

If remembering right PT 32 was skippered by Lt Schumacker and was in the original group that was to take McArthur to Australia . Having not enough fuel to make the trip the skipper had it scuttled and a US Sub picked the men up an take them to Australia.
