Did anyone in this board win this photo on ebay? I put in a low bid and someone sniped me. I planned on scanning it in high res and posting it here. However here's the photo for educational purposes. Interesting to see the adult non-combatant gas mask/bag commonly used. It's a rare glimpse of an un-posed moment in Scout operations. I think the AP photographer mis-described it. A listening post is a 2-3 man position beyond friendly lines to listen for enemy movement. This photo looks like a busy artillery fire direction center... or some other command post hub of activity during war games. Just a guess.

I saw this too on ebay. But did not bid on it. Just copied the image and enhanced it on photoshop. Removed the letters. Very interesting rare photo. They look like a command post. But the table looks like a artillery coordinate plotter.

Is that guy a Master Sergeant or a Sergeant First Class? Is he wearing breeches?
