Private Hayden Lawrence, 17th Ordnance Army Airforce, escaped from the Japs As the Bataan forces were being forced along the road of "The Death- March" when he escaped through a cornfield with 3 other members of the 17th Ordnance to seek out and join the Guerilla units in the hills (Col.Gyles Merrill commanding). This is the first time I have learnt about Hayden having any companions in his escape. Did they split up? Who were they and what became of them? It would add a lot to the story ( and the headache of finding 3 more young Americans to play the parts. Obtaining contacts with the Lawrence family and surviving relatives of Hayden's Filipino friend Herminio "Miniong" Tituico is on-going and The members of the P.S. Group are all willing to play the parts of US/Phil. and Japanese troops. All the original locations remain much as in 1942-5 and only requires a few tweeks to convey a 1940's setting. Most of all now we need more information about Hayden and pictures of him and perhaps of Jap. Col. Suzuki. Does the 17th Ordnance have a Vets Chapter? Any one from Louisiana? Can anyone assist!
