I imagined David Fagen to be a very powerfully built man as it is recorded he towered over the Filipino soldiers and could carry his commander Gen. Alihadrino (wrong spelling?) for miles at a time when the Gen. was sick with malaria, even when climbing the rocky hills. Are there any pictures of Fagen, or of a relative who resembles him? Little is mentioned about his family or early life. Cheers David

Hi Dave,
Here's the spelling: "Alejandrino" (The J has an H sound, like in BADAJOZ). Would that be General Jose Alejandrino, by any chance?
Best wishes, Tom

Yes Tom, The very same General. I've left all my books and papers in my study in Phil. there is a concrete cast of the general in front of the town hall in Ariat. My nephews took me to the mt. but we only got a 3rd of the way up by mid-day and stoped on a big stone ledge named base one. At 69yrs old I proved to be fitter than most of my nephews still in there 20's! The statue had been painted recently but alas some vandal had broken off the sword blade held in the gen's hand.
