A great book by Col. William S. Triplet. After the war in Europe ended, he was assigned to command the 342nd Infantry Regiment, 86th Division in the Philippines. The book details his encounters with the men of the 342nd and what he thought of Filipino Guerrillas. In 1946, he was transferred to command and train the newly formed 44th Infantry Regiment. (PS) He talks about he came up with the 44th's unauthorized insignia and details their assignment in Okinawa. He later became chief of staff of RYCOM. (Ryukyus Command)
