The Nininger Chapter is hosting it... so yes. It won't be on Mother's Day and not on our anniversary either.

Anyone have knowledge of a member of the 26th that is a recipient of the Combat Infantryman badge? According to guidelines all participants of the 26th that fought as infantrymen are.

He is known amongst the Scouts to be the first one to come face to face with the Japanese, being on a motorcycle on a scouting mission north of Lingayen. He rounded a corner and found himself in the midst of a platoon of Japanese infantrymen.
Salutes sir. Godspeed.
And then the Scouts will form to be reviewed Each scattered unit now once more complete Each weapon and each bright crisp flag renewed And high above the cadence of their feet Will come the loud clear virile welcoming shout From many throats, before the feasts begin, Their badge of Honor mid their comrades rout- "Make way, make way, the Scouts are moving in!"

He told that story of seeing the enemy for the first time at Fort Stotsenburg this year. So lucky to have talked to him about the 26th Cavalry and a Honor to have known him. Rudy

He held both my hands in his as he recounted that first encounter with the japanese, alone on a motorcycle. The way he told it to me had far more "colorful" language than the public speech he made the next day. So glad to have had the opportunity to meet him at the reunion.

Thank you, Gentlemen for posting these photos of my 95 year and 11 months - old father, Eulalio Arzaga SR. He was fortunate to be able to attend most of the reunions this past year, as well as be featured in the documentary FORGOTTEN SOLDIERS. He was meant to share his stories. And now he Rests In Peace with his fellow Comrades In Arms. Thanks so much for sharing these photos and your kind words. God's Love and Blessings, Carol, Daughter #7 in Arizona
