Thanks for the link! I didn't know about this movie until you posted it. It came out in 1964... I'm buying the DVD from Amazon.

Those were the days when they actually shot movies set in the Philippines... in the Philippines, not in Australia. Their "Japanese" soldiers look Filipino though

Here are some screen shots from the movie. I finally saw it.

It's funny how their mission was about gathering information about the Japanese defenses for the Lingayen gulf area right before the American invasion prior to MacArthur's return. They were supposed to radio back the info for the invasion force but it was "shot on location in the Bicol region" which is hundreds of miles away from Lingayen. I think the screenplay writer confused Lingayen and Leyte.

It also had some wartime footages including some on the retaking of Corregidor. In the movie, the Japanese were armed with springfield rifles.
