Great pics and I'm still recovering from our "holy week" pilgrimage to Bataan. The final parade in review in the Municipal Hall was the 1st and best experience we had. ;D more pics of the "Japs!"

Japs! they keep calling us Japs specialy the old ladies, now i think the marker of the command post of Gen Homma (on the first pic) might be one of the reason it has a doughboy helmet on it, every time they see our helmet they say Japs,

Those are Mormon volunteers organized by the Limay Bataan local tourism board depicting the "Angels of Bataan". They got their gears and props from Al, a guy who runs a shop in Evangelista, Pasay and rents out his stuffs to movie outfits doing period and war films.

Great photos! Alas the "Pacific" series on TV, is not going to alter the perception in peoples mind that you are Jap soldiers, as I believe it begins with all the men are equipted with the 1943 pattern uniforms. the Helmets worn by the Phil. Scouts should be referred to as a "Kelly" helmet (why that name?) or as a "Tommy", not a dough-hat, as this is the name given to the US sailors head-wear that is just like the caps worn by all bread-makers & bakers in The USA. So little is known about this war by the average person here it seems. "Did the Filipinos also fight the Japanese?" is what I often hear. Few know that Australia & NewZealand and India (Now divided into Pakistan, India, & Bengladesh) were all part of the British Imperial Army, and all wore the Tommy helmet up till the end of the war. The British new Mk2 helmet was only issued for the first time in 1944 for troops taking part in the D-day landings in Normandy, France. It would be better if you were mistaken for being New Zealand Maoris, or Malayan Soldiers. Still in England, many people are surprised to learn that the Russians were on our side fighting the Germans And that the Italians were our enemies! The 2 nurses really looked the part! The annoying part is that just 2 days later, I am once more fit and able to walk again. How come it was OK for the other group to carry guns but not you guys? -David

Great shots.
My best is the one with Philip and friends saluting right. I love the looks of the band in background.

0900, 8th April, 2010, Town of Balanga, Bataan,
The Fort McKinley, Manila, P.I. chapter's first major parade participation at the town of Balanga, site of the surrender of General King. Assembly point was at the elementary school and from there We marched roughly a three kilometer route up to the town's Municipal rotunda.
I was told we got shown in the news! We were introduced for the very first time with the band playing to the VIP officials and we made our salute marching in with jeeps of Alvin Alfonso and Nestor Guevarra of the Motor Vehicles Collectors Club of the Philippines (MVCCP).
We were the lead unit from the parade floats and got a grand applause from the Vets, VIP's and public. This was the highlight the parade in review. From there we retired to the DPWH staff housing courtesy of our Bataan's Angel through Maj. Zagala.
Mabuhay ang Philippine Scouts!
