I was passing by the GAP today and a big WW2'ish photo of khaki-clad GI's on the display caught my eye. Then I peeked in and saw a sign for "Infantry Shirt" with a byline that says "Inspired by the 1930's military shirt." Okay I'm a fish so I bit and went inside... the shirt looks pretty good and better than the D-ickie's. It has a good suntan shade. Check it out: GAP link www.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=719501012&userSearchText=infantry+shirt&searchCID=25781They have khaki pants too that they call the Cadet pants. Button fly and all but the fabric's shade did not seem to match the Infantry Shirt's khaki shade. Plus I'm not sure it's high-waisted pants.

Retail price is expensive... but you know how it is, at the end of the new line's season, these merchandise get heavily discounted. I predict it will be $15-20'ish by end of March or early April.

Ya I've seen the price , just add a little more you can buy a China repro WW2. You go to " close and looks like" because it's cheap as chips...otherwise just go to proper vendor.
Good find Vic though, I'll watch the price....
What's the best " close and looks like" khaki shorts and khaki short sleeves?
Where to buy in US ( department store ) in LA? or Frisco?
Thanks

Hey Boys
Was in town and tried one on. The large was snug on me so think about it if you order on line. I normally wear a large but it is cut a little tighter. It is 100% cotton, price 45 dollars made in Sri Lanka. They actually have a great line of military stuff, it is just modern but the looks of a vet.
Peace Out

So what do you think? Looks good and can pass for an impression of From Here to Eternity?

Hi Vic
It looks good enough if it is bought cheaper. The collar might be a little off in size for a tie. Yes it is better than the dickie in looks. The stiching stands out but all in all a good shirt.
Hope all is well. When you leaving for PI's

Check out the GAP shop at the outlet malls. Should be cheaper there.
