Hi Folks: We had a great time at Chino during the "Marching Through History" weekend. We only had 4 on Saturday but managed to hold our own. Sunday brought us more troops. We had at least 5 or 6 teachers asking questions this time. Plenty of kids came by for history homework. I just got home and will post a few for you all. It seemed liked less people on Sunday than Saturday. Windy and cool at night. Not fun sleeping in a cot with Frank snoring and one darn mosquito, right Jun? Anyway, more will be posted as time goes. Peace to all Boots and Saddles to my comrades!! Trooper Rudy/26th Cavalry/Philippine Scouts. Don Posing for me Set up>Jun,Don,Gil and Rudy Getting ready for Visitors "Halt""Who goes there" Our first visitor> "Trooper 26th Cav" Dr. Torio Three man pass and review by Gil,Ding and Don with last years winning streamer on staff. Mislang, lack of manpower. Philippine Scout Ramil out of uniform. Tried to confiscated these for our troops. Scout Ramil excepting 1 day in brig for uniform from Capt Rudy. Sundays Troopers A surprise visit by General Ortega with his Philippine Army honor guards. Thanks for the kudos indiosbravos, sorry we missed you hawkins2ndcav. Hiya Philip, what's up?....will you be extending your stay there? Well somebody has to defend the causeway heights against the Japanese invasion of Singapore too you know. Regards to you as well as our valiant Indian, Malay, British and Aussie allies. Here are a few B&Ws shots also from the event........ PA reservists manning trench. A "pensive" looking PA OSP skipper with vet. Filipino soldier observing front. Well it was a fun weekend, Don now has some action footages of the PA to complete his PS docu epic. I can now send off some of the guinit helmets. Special thanks to our new IJA reenactor friend, (Captain Rudy, what's his name again?) for his excellent and sometimes even emotionally difficult portayal of a Japanese soldier. We had great fun Saturday night singing Umi Yukaba , Deutchland Uber Alles and Die Schonne Westerwald.

Actually it's a he and his name is Max. He's about 15 years old and a gelding. We've been gradually introducing him to various events and this one was pretty much a success. He wasn't too sure about the tanks and the halftracks through but that will take time.

Hi Ray, Great to see the PA boys in blue present and ready to defend the Islands. Like that b&w image manning the trenches and barbed wire fence in the background waiting for the attack. No pics of you boys with the captured Japanese? ;D I'm OK here in the humid rainforest island of Singapore and been very busy supervising/ teaching, training of the "home defense" units. Still no word about my extension of my "duties" here. Will be planning on having Christmas possible in Manila this December. Philip

Ray: Nice black and white. Who took them? They should have a few of us surrendering to the Nippon guy since that is what showing. I was hoping someone took one of me hanging from the barb wire. Do not remember the IJA guy, to much rice wine with him and you . Darn funny you two singing German songs. Thanks for bringing the General. So good to see him. Did anyone take a picture of the quick honor guard we did for him coming from the car? What is your address so I can send you an 8x10 of you and your dad? Until the next call for Boots and Saddles Rudy

I forgot the name of the PS vet who was there Saturday "Dr. " Well he made a comment to me in private...thanking us for what we are or we were doing. He said to me in a manner like...without our living history he and his fellow soldiers would just be a memory. He is very proud of us. Also Sunday General Ortega was there too. To me this is what it's all about Nice pictures guys! Congratulations on another successful event. Good to see Ray's dad attend again. Thanks to all who helped out and took the time for this. Mabuhay!

Vic Ray even brought a cool mock Japanese helmet that looked like it was made out of paper upon getting a hold of it, but you couldnt tell if it was real (or not) only till you held it , cause it was real light.
