I would imagine they still into WW1 gears, just a guess. And they and the 12th might be wearing the same kit. Like yourself I'm still a bit stuck in my quest to do a 12th medical. Look into this thread, not 31st but the discussions might help you. pinoyhistory.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=reenactingwwii&action=display&thread=760This is a dedicated site for Medic in WW2. The moderator answers PM. med-dept.com/I spoke before to P.S. Dionisio Perez of 12th Medical Regiment, from what I gathered from our conversations, the uniform that he was trying to describe to me was like those of AEF....wool tunic, breeches, wool puttees....he carries a handgun. Dr. Maravilla's Father, a litter man carries a M1.... This is the site of 31st, they might enlighten you on this matter. www.31stinfantry.org/

I need help and advice Gregg On the subject of 31st Infantry: Do you mean 31st Infantry Regiment? If so... I found this on the US Militaria Forum a while ago. One member posted his Philippine made khaki uniforms and one was of a 31st Inf. Reg. soldier. The post-er said that he believes the jacket dates to 1916, but I have seen a picture of a 31st soldier wearing pretty much the same thing during the 1920s. It doesn't have any of the gear with it but it gives an idea of what a 31st Infantry uniform could look like. Hope it helps. I'll post the pics here:

The above uniform is excelent if you're doing the 1912-1920s timeframe. For anything later, it's not going to work. The stand-up collar went out in the mid-20s (don't have the exact reference on me at work) and in fact, many of the older pattern tunics were converted into open lapel collars which are the forerunner of the 1938 Service Coat.
