Posting this event I found at the WW2 reenactors forum.
No doubt there would be lots of early WW2 cavalry reenactors with horses to take pictures of. If you have a 26th cavalry impression, it would be fun to attend even if you don't have a horse.

Attention East Coast Cavalry Troopers!!! It's that time again. The East Coast Regional Cavalry Competition will be held the weekend of 1 & 2 August 2009 in Fort Valley, VA,. This event is sanctioned by the U.S. Cavalry Association. Last years event was a big success so we will be maintaining the momentum and building on with this years event.
For those wishing to enter, basically there are three levels of competition Beginner, Novice, and Expert. These are better known as levels I, II, & III. Events are: Military horsemanship, Field jumping, mounted saber, mounted pistol, authenticity, and the Major Howze team event.
Competitor's can arrive as soon as Thursday 30 July. There will be limited trailer hookups, horse stalls, and guest rooms available on site for use. There are multiple lodging etablishments nearby in historic Strasburg, Middletown, and Front Royal. Please contact the ranch ahead of time in case you wish to reserve any of these amenities.
The staff is looking for WWII era living historians to set up displays portraying I&R troops, Armor, or any descendant MOS of the horse cavalry. Last year we had a couple of 1941 era cavalry troopers compete. There is an authenticity competition that some of the forum members might be interested in. You do not need a horse for the authenticity event. Jeeps and other armored vehicles are welcome.
