So you also had the chance to talk with G. Eddy Ocampo. I was able to talk to him last Dec. 2008 in the battle of san mateo anniversary at mukhang mas humina nga ang kanyang pangangatawan kumpara noong mainterview namin siya last 2007.
"Sugar Mills" Kev, is it posible that there were Sugar mills in the area and that some of this Britons are employee of this sugar mill?Just asking he he he he(Remember the Denweiddei Map? there were canefields in the area)
I think I made a mistake(about the group of englishmen), alam ko nabasa ko yun sa aming source kaya lang di ko na makita hanapin ko muna uli.
Mahirap kasi magkamali sa kasaysayan(madalas kasi ako diyan)kaya nagiingat na rin ako he he he he.

Oh yes kev! arthur Howard! another englishmen that was implicated with the death of Gen. Lawton, I lost track of him. Anyway, it appears to methat there were more than one englishmen who are involved in the incident. Remember one of our witnesses claimed that there were many englishmen who went to san mateo before the battle. I think they were involved also.

dbanaghanhotmailcouk,
Hi,
I think this might help you! in his memoir Col. James Parker mention this Englishman named "Mcdonald" as the one who trained Gen. Geronimos Tiradores Dela Muerte(Sharpshooters of Death)
According to him(Col. James Parker), this englishman died later in the Battle of Imus in Cavite. He died fighting with the filipinos.

Well then Tom, since my data in the revolution are also limited, lets create a date base of the rank and file of the revolutionary Army of Aguinaldo here in the forum. Lets invite our friends to contribute their expertise and knowledge on this field(the revolution)particularly in the rank and file of the Different Generals of the revolution.
Lets start with Gen. Antonio Luna(Supreme Commander of the Army Republican Army)
Staff Officer:
1. Gen. Jose Alejandrino 2. (?) 3. (?) 4. (?) 5. (?)
Anyone knows who's the other staff?

Who betrayed Gen. Lawton? Was it Otis?(There was a political rift between Gen. Lawton and Gen. Otis in the Philippines, it is said that Pres. McKinley indirectly offered Gen. Otis position to Gen Lawton.)or was it the growing interest of American Imperialism in the Philippines? What will happen if Gen. Lawton succeeded Otis? will he continue the war with the the Filipinos or will he stop it?(it is said that Gen. Lawton has his sympathy with the Filipinos)if this is so, then what will happen to the growing interest of American Imperialism in the Philippines? The fact here is that someone(from the American rank)betrayed Gen. Lawton, betrayal that caused him his life. (I agree now with Kevin, that the death of Gen. Lawton was a great lost to the Filipino aspiration.)

Base from this two document that I collected(from kevin and Richard, and the other one is from the book that I borrowed in San Mateo Municipal Library)It appears that the secret mission of Gen. Lawton to attack San Mateo was already compromised and already betrayed to the Filipinos.
"Gen. Lawton's last expedition, the one against San Mateo was planned very quietly,(secretly) in order if possible to effect a surprise." ----Annual Report 1900---
"Before the arrival of Gen. Lawton's forces, the insurgents army under the command of Gen. Geronimo, was already deployed and well entrenched along the banks of the Marikina river and were awaiting orders."
"The Filipinos had learned that the Americans were coming to attack them on December 18th so they were on the alert, the whole day" ---Dr. Isidro Antonio---
"COMING TO ATTACK THEM ON DECEMBER 18TH SO THEY WERE ON THE ALERT, THE WHOLE DAY"
"THE WHOLE DAY"
While talking to Gen. Otis in the dining hall of the Palacio de Governador 7:00 O'Clock in the evening, Gen. Lawton is still clueless that the mission was already compromised and that the Filipinos are now waiting for him in their trenches in San Mateo.
This later on leads to the death of Gen. Lawton in the battlefield of San Mateo.

BREAKTHROUGH!!
Richard, Kevin and I manage to find a breakthrough in the battlefield of san Mateo. With this we can now recreate the actual events that transfired in the battlefield.
The position, the offenses and defenses of both army can now be seen and identified in the battlefield.

Above(Left)NHI Battle Marker of Battle of San Mateo. Middle(Left)NHI Battle marker of Battle of Pulang Lupa.(Battle of Paye) Below(Left)Citation of the Battle of Pulang lupa and Battle of Paye in Boac Marinduque.
Map: Maps of the battlefieds of "Battle of San Mateo" in San Mateo Rizal(With Location of Gen. Lawtons Monument.
For your information, Gen. Lawton died in the battlefield of San Mateo in Rizal and not in the battlefield of Paye in Boac Marinduque.
