I don't know about the market in the US but here in Europe the demands for Nazi's memorabilia are high (as well as the prices).
As time pass it seems that it is now acceptable to collect anything to do with Axis power, specially the Germans. It won't be long before the eyes will be with the Japanese ( or is it already happening or happened, I just don't know). At the moment it's only the "Samurai" (katana) sword and the Nambu Pistol that are most popular.
I'll bet that in the near future the Imperial Army's relics will also form a part in ones collections and not just as an exotic desirable added attraction.

There is a growing group of collector on Japanese memorabilia here in the US too. Some are rather extensive collections. And others here wo are in to searching to buy all sorts of Japanese samurai swords or memorabilias.
Aside from the fact that there are more than half a dozen different "japanese" reenacment groups here in the US. Most quite serious about accuracy in uniform and equipment, except for a lot of their members not passing for asian. ;D
