Nice Vic, Congradulations on your new rifle. always remember to shout out when you go to bed. ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=XExL7hDQtt8"This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is MINE. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My rifle without me is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will... My rifle and myself know that what counts in war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our bursts, nor the smoke we make. We know it is the hits that count. We will hit... My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strengths, its parts, its accessories, its sights, and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will... Before God I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but PEACE." ;D

Cool thanks, it looks like September 1943 if I'm not mistaken? But the different parts could have been frankensteined. Don't know enough about it yet. And Rudy, I'm happy to say that no kids' college funds, IRA's, 401K's, paychecks, etc. were harmed in the purchase of this piece of history Mostly from my play money account replenished by selling junk on ebay Philip, I don't go to bed... I sleep sitting up holding the baby upright to keep him from crying

Hope the baby did not scratch the garand on the way down>>>
Just kidding. Maybe the baby was reaching for the garand.

Congratulations, VeeVee. At least you were smart enough NOT so say "...this is my first M1". Someone told me about their first M1903. I told them I still have my FIRST M1903....and the 17 I bought after that!!

Rick... this is what I had typed up to post but got interrupted because it was bath time for the kids and I was "summoned" as additional muscle to wrestle them into the tub... now I return to the forum to see your comment ;D
Dimasalang, it's just a rack grade. It's only a starter garand...
Hmm...
