Hi guys,
My kit's slowly shaping up, and right now just kept stashed inside a WW2 mountain ruck in a corner of my room. I figured, since I don't really do airsoft anymore, this gear will never see the light of day unless I hang them on to something.
I got a few tips re: where to buy them; two exactly:
a) The Jose Abad Santos/Tutuban area in Manila; b) The EDSA/Evangelista area in Makati.
I was wondering whether you guys know of any other sources? I'm not looking for anything fancy (a girl at mannequins.com.ph quoted a PHP 8,000.00 price for one of their "fibreglass models" - I nearly fell off my seat laughing), just a solid anchor for uniforms/gear, preferrably full body, the creepy facial features really optional.
Advance thanks for any replies.

I don't know if this would be possible where you are but a lot of my friends have bought used sewing maniquins at flea markets or in antique stores. Often you can find these at a pretty decent price.
The best things are that older maniquins tend to be a lot more sturdy than what are made today and since they're used in sewing garments, they don't have a face.

Thanks for the tip. One other pointer I got was from a post in usmilitariaforums. One guy there suggested talking to the Property Section people in malls and ask if they have shop-discarded ones they're willing to sell. Another tip, firesales.
I wound up getting two half-body ones that came with a height-adjustable metal base and wood stand for PHP P500.00 (around USD $11) each. Pretty good haul for a Saturday afternoon, I'd think. Only problem is they don't have that metal thingie on the neck that you could use to hang headgear on.

Show us a picture of your display when you have it put together. I've thought about displaying uniforms the same way but I'm afraid of the moths eating holes into them.

Onga eh. I hope I get to finish the display soom. Lots of work still to be done though:
* Final "tweak" items to the kit are still on the way; They'll probably get to me by this week; no Garand still, though (insert sad face here) * I've to find a longer metal rod for the base. Right now when I have the mannequins up I feel I have midget close-in security. Each mannequin, mounted, comes up to just about 3.5 feet hahah * I have to get the sorry excuse I have for a doughboy helmet refitted (i'll have to get that liner + chinstrap thing from I forget what online shop) * Lastly, I have to find a metal attachment for the mannequin head to mount the helmet on.
*** I'm still thinking whether I want collar insignia and patches on an OD wool shirt (I decided to use the OD shirt, not the khaki, for "contrast." I just like the look better; besides, the khaki shirts I have are officer's shirts and I wouldn't want to rip the epaulets out just to get an EM display going)
At least I'm having fun doing all this. I'll surely post pics when I'm finally done.
Re moths: Yup that's a real concern. Some forum posts recommend putting the item in a plastic bag and sticking the thing in the freezer for a day or so - but that's to eliminate existent mothing and kill larvae - it doesn't address prevention. Right now the non-complete displays are together with me in my room. Windows closed all day, and I watch them like a hawk.
