It's a very interesting set of photos I saw. I'm curious what Infantry unit they are as you can't read the letters on what the Regiment it is. My guess is the 31st IR. But there is some vague image of a snake emblem on the shield of the eagle.
Some of troops if you notice are wearing wool riding breeches in the hot & humid Philippine climate. And all are still wearing wool puttees!
All the background structures are definitely Philippine made capiz shell windows and those bamboo gate way prop.

Is that a polar bear above the eagle on that Regimental flag?

It seems a mix of US, PS and PA soldiers in their Class A 's waiting for the Parade to begin at the Rizal Monument in Luneta, 1930's? There is even a katipunero "reenactor" holding a US Flag on the far right. ;D

Hi PHilip, how can you tell? The Katipunero is obvious but the rest all look the same. When was the Rizal monument built?

The smaller built and height specially the five smallest soldiers in the middle section really look to fit the Filipino stature. It is hard to tell from the poor resolution quality of the image their complextion who is brown or fair skinned.. They all are looking dark skinned local troops as a result.

The Colors are for 31st Infantry. The regimental coat of arms was approved in October 1921 (image from TIOH files). It looks like the same building in both pictures. The soldiers could be either 15th Infantry or 31st Infantry as elements of both regiments were assigned to Philippine Division in the early 1920s. The Philippine Division patch came out the summer of 1922 but neither of these two Infantry regiments had approved D.I.s until 1924 (31st Inf.) or 1925 (15th Inf.) Hence, the patch without D.I.s would be correct for the interval between mid-1922 and at least 1924.
