Here is a dagger that has the 1st Republic seal with engraved sun face and 3 stars in a triangle, and on the other side is engraved Laoag in Ilocos Norte - all in Spanish. The mouns are bronze and the hilt is carabao horn. I loaned this to the "History of Steel in Asia" exhibit in Macao, China. Enjoy

OH I forgot to mention that the worn banner under the triangle is a barely ledgible "Libertad".

What makes it especially interesting would be the kris-like wavy design of the blade.

Outside of the Moros, only the Ilocanos have this type of blade design.

Wow! I only now just seen this knife. It's pouring and I stumbled across this thread. What a beauty. No scabbard I presume? Any idea who it was made for? Will add this to my photo collection. -david
