Victor, thanks for creating this forum and since I requested this, I guess I should post a thread now. I've always been interested in military history, particularly World War II. I'll be aging myself but I guess it's because of all the "Combat" and "Rat Patrol" series I was watching at the time. Not to mention watching "The Longest Day" in channel 9. Anyway, when I started reading books, I became a fan of Cornelius Ryan. He wrote the "The Longest Day", "A Bridge Too Far" and "The Last Battle". When I read about the exploits of the British Paratroopers, I became enamoured with them. This was further strengthened after I saw the movie version of "A Bridge Too Far". I was hooked. When I moved here to California, I found out about "The Fort MacArthur Days". That's where I first encountered reenactors. I was in awe when I saw them wearing the British Paratrooper uniforms. That's when I got started collecting uniforms. The World War II British Paratrooper is the very first uniform set I have completed. In 2001, I bought a 3.1 megapixel camera and started taking pictures. And after editing out the background, here are the results: I'll post some more pictures later, including a listing of the gears.

Greetings bravotwozero,
Wow! Great pictures. Looks like something out of Militaria Magazine. I'm a Combat and Rat Patrol fan myself. Just loved those jeeps. I'm also interested in airborne infantry, WWII US airborne infantry. I'm starting of with some patches and then work myself up. Like most my interest was sparked by Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. I started earlier with US ARMY pacific but had to slow down because of cost. Some of the accroutements I can use for the airborne collection.

You watched the same shows? Hmmm... you must be in the same age bracket as me. You know what? That's how I got started, patches first, then complete uniform sets later...I can see where you're going. Glad we are like minded.

Classic indeed. I will however be updating my photos. Hopefully sometime this year. I have since bought a British Battledress plus and Airborne trouser. Coming soon.... In the meantime, we'll have to settle for these old pictures. Yup, I will be posting a gear list as well as reference books later.

Philip, I believe that's a Gammon bomb he's holding, not a Mill's bomb.
