Can anyone tell me where the saber of General Francisco Makabulos, surrendered to Gen. A. MacArthur and delivered by hand by US Col. Donsal & Major Porter. MacArthur was by then with the Dept. of Lakes, Chicago, Illinois. On 16th May 1902 MacArthur wrote a letter of thanks to Makabulos. In the copy of L.L. Dizon's book of Gen. Makabulos, there is a black and white photo of the saber along with a US water canteen (his?) I would wish to update all the photos in colour to expand my dossier on Makabulos. there is also his brass bell which i think is also held in the states somewhere. Alas the family home is in very poor condition now. on visiting it in La Paz 2 years ago, I thought it abandoned and was shock when a women came to the door and permitted me to look around. I gathered she was a descendant of the general. I wrote to the Mayor of La Paz (the town hall is just 200 hundred yards away suggesting was to save the house etc along with a self addressed envelope and stamp. No replay! still if anyone can assist me in obtaining a colour picture of the saber i would be very grateful.
