We are tracking down American and Filipino veterans of Bataan and the Philippines from WWII for a documentary. Starting in a few months, we will be traveling anywhere in the US or the Philippines to conduct as many interviews as possible. Anyone with any information, please contact me for further details on this project - via this message board. Thank you, in advance! We plan to visit the 2011 Philippine Scouts reunion.

I just found this forum, sadly my Uncle Jerry Colvin died about 8 years ago. He was a staff sergeant in the 38th infantry and won a bronze star with 2 oak leaf clusters for his action in the battle of Zig Zag Pass. They still have reunions of the division yearly but the vets are passing quickly now.

My Filipina wife and I live in the Philippines 5 months of each year and have visited all of the battle sites as well as the prison camps (O'Donnell, Cabanatuan, UST, etc, and hav travelled all down Bataan to Mariveles where the Death March began for so many. I recently attended a parade at Fort Bonifacio (used to be Fort McKinley back in WW II) where there were 100s of the elderly Filipino heroes who fought the war back then who were being honored. So if you're looking for those heroes to write about, let me know. Also, be sure to read my book: "LEST WE FORGET: The Brave & Honorable Guerrillas and Philippine Scouts of WW II." It goes into detail as to ALL that went on during those very trying days where our troops and the Filipinos were virtually abandoned.

My Uncle in Law "Jr", may be willing to talk about events of Bataan and his time with the guerillas in the mountains. Eustaqio David of San Bernadino, Tel 7148870334, was the youngest of 3 brothers. The eldest at 27yrs old was a Capt. Procipcio Tanedo David who died in O'Donnell POW camp of his wounds. My Father- in-Law (2nd brother) Eligio Tanedo David was a First Sargeant (23yrs old) D co.,3rd Bn. NWPMD, ECLA who held command of of his own guerilla unit. Uncle "Junior" at just 16yrs old after trying to deliver medicine and food to his elder brother at the POW camp and being robbed of the parcel, and beaten away from the gate promptly went into the hills to join Eligio and the guerillas. He would have much to tell I know.
